A Thank You Letter

Nov 28, 2014, 09:52 AM

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my facilitator for encouraging me to take this course. All of the presenters were so enthusiastic and created a very comfortable environment in which everyone felt very comfortable sharing their ideas and struggles. The book, cd and information presented to the group are all invaluable resources that I will continue to reference in the future.

It is hard to believe that this course in now coming to an end, I know that I will be taking away many valuable life lessons. The first lesson is very simple but powerful. Everyone can be in charge of making changes in his or her life. The trick is to make small manageable changes one step at a time. If these small changes do not work, then try something else. I know that I will continue to make actions plans in the future to help me to get out of a rut and take positive steps towards making life better. What a valuable tool!

The second lesson is something that we have all been taught but easily forget. That is positive thinking will create positive results. It is so easy to get bogged down with negative thoughts that just exhaust us and prevent growth and development. However, if one follows the steps to positive thinking that were presented to the group then life can have a much sunnier outlook.

The third lesson deals with making decisions. For most (including myself) making decisions can be a daunting and overwhelming task that can stop us in our tracks and cripple us from moving forward. The book Living a Healthy Life simply outlines some basic steps that help make the decision making process easier and more manageable. It is incredible when one is given a tool that allows him or her to move forward!

The fourth lesson is dealing with depression. As you know, due to some difficult and trying situations, I have been suffering with depression. This course has given me some simple but effective ways of lessoning the effects of depression. Once again these are very common sense ideas that we so easily forget.

The fifth and for me the most important and difficult lesson for me is learning effective communication skills. I know that this is something that I will have to continue to work on, but you have given me a push in the right direction. I’ve learned that it is important to say what you feel in a positive manner and ask for help when you need it. People cannot read your mind.

I would like to close by thanking you once again for facilitating this course to anyone young or old to help them take small steps to a better life.
